Director’s Biography

Michael Vass grew up in Kelowna, BC and is now based in Toronto. He received his BFA in Film Production from Simon Fraser University and his MFA in Screenwriting from York University. Michael was a directing resident at the Canadian Film Centre in 2005, and he made his award-winning short Skinheads through the CFC’s Short Dramatic Film Programme. In 2006 Michael was selected to participate in the TIFF Talent Lab. His critical writings have appeared in Cineaction and the Philadelphia-based publication Machete.
